Wow, I just came across this old case about Nancy Carol Parris, and it honestly gave me chills. I can't even imagine the fear her family went through when she didn't come back from walking her dog that night. ? What gets me is the sheer brazenness of Lee Roy Martin calling up the newspaper editor to reveal where the bodies were. That level of audacity is mind-boggling. It's like he wanted the attention, knowing full well how much pain he was causing. And poor Annie Dedmond's husband, being wrongfully convicted and suffering while the real monster was out there—it just shows how twisted this situation was. It's hard to think about how scared the community must have been, especially with Martin's threats of more killings. I feel for Nancy's family and the others who had to live through this nightmare. South Carolina's always seemed like a peaceful place to me, so hearing about something like this happening there just rocks me to my core. Does anyone else feel like this crime could have been a terrifying movie plot?
