Hey everyone, I've been doing some digging into the Christine Rothschild case, and I'm really struck by how alone she must have felt as she faced the stalking and harassment from Niels Jorgensen. Even with her best friend Linda believing she knew who the perpetrator was, Christine seemed to struggle to get anyone in power to take her fears seriously. This is a massive failure on the part of the institutions meant to protect young women. It makes me wonder how different things might be today, with more awareness of stalking and harassment. It breaks my heart to think how Christine’s voice went unheard when she needed help the most. Does anyone else feel that this case highlights a broader systemic issue with how crime victims are often not believed or supported? I really hope we’ve learned from past tragedies like this and have made strides to better protect and believe potential victims today. Sending love and strength to all who knew Christine.
