Hey everyone, I’ve been reading about the tragic case of Kimberly Kyle Hopps and wanted to share a thought about those who were affected by Bobby Joe Long’s reign of terror. It’s truly horrifying to think about the fear that must have gripped the Tampa community at the time. With Halloween coming around when Kimberly was found, I can only imagine the added atmosphere of fear and grief her friends and family felt during a time that's supposed to be about fun and festivity. What strikes me is the incredible bravery of Lisa McVey. Her courage in providing law enforcement with key details not only led to Long’s arrest but undoubtedly saved countless other potential victims. It’s a small piece of solace in the aftermath of such a dark time. I hope Kimberly’s family has found some measure of peace in knowing that Long was held accountable. Thinking of all the families affected by such senseless violence. Stay safe, everyone.
