I’ve been revisiting the Samuel Little confessions and am struck by something in Hannah Mae Bonner’s case. It’s baffling and saddening to think about how the justice system operates sometimes. Little confessed to her murder with chilling detail, enough to convince investigators of his guilt, yet there were no formal charges against him for this crime. I understand that his life sentence covered many heinous acts, but doesn’t justice for each victim matter? My heart goes out to Hannah's family, especially her daughter Glory. Growing up without answers must have been incredibly tough. Even though they got some form of closure with Little’s confession, the lack of formal justice in her specific case is frustrating. What do you all think about this aspect? Does it concern anyone else that someone can admit to a crime and still not be prosecuted for it just because they're already serving time? Let’s discuss how we can push for reforms that truly respect every victim and their family.
