I’ve been thinking about the poor man who was reading the Bible outside Beverly Wortmann’s apartment. Here’s this guy, probably minding his own business, maybe taking a moment of reflection, and then he finds himself tangled up in such a horrific situation. It must have been particularly distressing to be suspected of not just one, but multiple murders. I can’t imagine the emotional whirlwind he went through only to be later cleared. It's a reminder that wrongful suspicion can happen to anyone, even the most unsuspecting people, and how crucial thorough investigations are before jumping to conclusions. My heart goes out to him, alongside all those affected by what Beverly endured.
