I'm really struck by the tragic story of Meagan and Johnny Coxie. It's haunting to think about how they were both trying to navigate life outside of incarceration and were ultimately met with such a terrifying end. The detail that really gets to me is how Meagan had talked about turning a new page with a job lined up after getting bonded out.
It seems clear that they were trying to find some stability, doing what they felt they needed to do in that moment. It must be a profound loss for their child, who will now grow up without either parent due to this horrendous crime. My heart goes out to their family, especially considering the little one left behind. Anyone else wonder if there were signs that Kohlhepp was hiding this darkness while working in what appears to be a seemingly successful real estate career? It's chilling to think how such evil can exist right under our noses.
I still can’t get over how Meagan and Johnny were navigating such tough times before their disappearance. It's truly gut-wrenching to think about how they were trying to turn things around, especially after Meagan told her mom about the new job. The fact that they had a young child makes it even harder to digest. How do you explain this kind of senseless tragedy to a child who's going to grow up without their parents? My heart goes out to their family, especially Meagan’s mom, who must have held onto hope for so long only to be met with such devastating news. It’s baffling how someone like Kohlhepp could appear so normal to everyone around him when he was capable of such horrific acts. Truly chilling. Thoughts are with the Coxie family.
