I've been thinking a lot about the highway and surrounding areas where Shelley Sikes' car was found off I-45. It's so chilling to consider how many tragic cases, including Shelley's, have ties to this stretch of road. Known as the "Highway of Hell" by some, it seems like there's just a dark history that lingers there. The lack of lighting and sparse traffic at night back then must have made it a terrifying place to be stranded. I can't imagine what it was like for Shelley that night. Just thinking about her driving home, not knowing the danger she was in, breaks my heart. It seems like a reminder that we need more safety measures on our highways and to always be vigilant. I hope that one day Shelley's family can find peace and that further awareness might help prevent these kinds of tragedies from happening to anyone else.
