I can’t get the haunting details out of my mind: Leslie was found with only socks on. It’s just heartbreaking to think about how vulnerable she was in those last moments. It’s like something out of a nightmare. And to think about her mother, working for the CPD all those years—only to lose her daughter in such a horrible way—is just beyond painful. I hope the family can find some solace in knowing the person responsible is behind bars for life. These are the kind of heinous acts that really shake a community to its core. Rest in peace, Leslie. You deserved so much better.
