It's tough to comprehend that the assailant, Charles Jackson, was already serving a life sentence for another crime when they finally identified him. I can’t help but think about what the Vila family's journey must have been like, dealing with uncertainty for so long and then learning the truth after Jackson had already passed away. Although the justice system couldn't formally charge him due to his death, I hope this closure brought some sense of peace to those who cared about Edith and Henry. It’s a reminder of how crucial advancements in technology and the preservation of evidence are in these cold cases.
