I'm really struck by the sheer weight this case must have had on the Albany community, being the only double murder in its history. The thought of the Vila family losing Henry and Edith so tragically and having to wait almost two decades for answers is incredibly overwhelming. It's a reminder of how advanced DNA testing has become, that something initially unsolvable can eventually be opened up and lead to long-awaited justice. It also makes me wonder about the ripple effect this had on local cold cases. If Jackson's DNA tied him to the Vila murders, how many other open cases might eventually pinpoint him as well? Hats off to everyone who tirelessly worked to bring closure to Edith and Henry's families. I hope ongoing technology can provide answers for other families still waiting.
