Does anyone else wonder how Charles Jackson Jr. was able to evade capture for so long despite his extensive criminal history? The fact that he had been arrested multiple times for serious offenses like burglary and assault makes it unsettling that he wasn't stopped sooner. I keep thinking about Sonya Higginbotham and her family. She was so young with her whole life ahead of her. It's tragic to think that justice for her and the others came only after Jackson's death. With today's technology, maybe cases like this could be solved much faster, but it’s still haunting to think about how many dangerous individuals might have slipped through the cracks back then. Sending strength to all the families who had to live with unanswered questions for so many years.

I recently started looking deeper into Sonya Higginbotham’s case and just can't stop thinking about the community impact back then. It's difficult to imagine the fear and tension in Oakland during the mid-70s when everyone realized a serial killer like Charles Jackson Jr. was on the loose. Rumors and whispers must have run rampant. I’m curious if anyone has heard personal stories from family members or friends who lived in the area during that time. How did neighborhoods change their routines or take precautions? It feels critical to remember not only Sonya but also how this haunting period affected everyone in the community. My heart goes out to those who lived through such a terrifying chapter. If anyone has more info or stories from local news at the time, I’d love to hear about it.
