Has anyone else delved into the mind games Holmes played with his victims? I can't stop thinking about how he managed to insert himself so deeply into the lives of Sarah Cook and her husband, Frank. I mean, he was even living with them for a while! It’s terrifying to think about how he gained their trust and then used it against them in such a horrific way. The fact that Sarah and her niece, Mary, came across Holmes disposing of another victim speaks volumes about the kind of person he was—so brazen and unashamed. How did they cope with the mental and emotional torment of that discovery until their tragic end? It's truly haunting to think about the fear they must have experienced. My heart goes out to all the families affected by this monster's actions. It’s unsettling how someone could masquerade as a friend and then reveal themselves as the ultimate predator.
Has anyone here been digging into the relationships H. H. Holmes had with his victims? Reading about Sarah Cook and her niece Mary Haracamp, I can't help but think how manipulative and insidious Holmes must have been. It's so chilling that he was at Sarah's wedding and even got close to the family. Imagine inviting someone into your life, thinking they're a friend, only to have them commit such heinous acts. I can't even wrap my mind around the betrayal Frank Cook must have felt. It's truly disturbing how Holmes could blend into normal social settings and gain trust so easily. Sending thoughts to the Cook family, who lost not only Sarah but also a future they were all looking forward to. Does anyone else feel like this aspect of deception makes Holmes's crimes even more terrifying?
