Hey everyone,
I've been diving into the Emeline Cigrand case lately, and there's one detail that really haunts me—the footprint on the vault door. It's such a chilling reminder of her desperate situation. I can't help but wonder if anyone has more information about the materials in that vault or any other tactics Holmes might have used to disable someone trying to escape. The use of acid on the floor makes it even more horrific and really shows the extent of his cruelty.
I've read that Holmes would isolate his victims, but the footprint, to me, symbolizes a fight for survival. It's like she's leaving a message for us all these years later, refusing to be forgotten. I can't imagine what her family must have gone through, not knowing for sure what happened to their daughter, and it breaks my heart to think that this might have been just another 'transaction' for Holmes.
Has anyone come across any old records or details about these vaults? Maybe something that wasn't analyzed back in the 19th century but could shed more light today? Always hoping for more pieces to this heartbreaking puzzle. Thanks in advance for any insights!
Stay safe out there, everyone.
