Hey everyone, I've been deep-diving into the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Murders, and something that caught my eye is the weird situation with Kim Wendy Allen's checkbook. How did it end up in a drive-up mailbox across from the Kentfield post office? It seems pretty deliberate, right? Like, the killer wanted it to be found but didn't want to keep it as a trophy. I'm puzzled why the fingerprints didn't lead anywhere, even back then. Could it have been someone with no record? Or maybe just a huge missed opportunity by the investigators. Also, it's so sad to think about how Kim, only 19 years old, had her whole life ahead of her. Sending thoughts to her family and hoping for any new breakthroughs in the case. What do you all make of that checkbook situation?

Hey all, I've been reading through some of the old news articles about Kim Wendy Allen's case, and one small detail has been sticking with me. It’s that her checkbook was found a few weeks after her murder in a drive-up mailbox near the Kentfield post office, but why there? It seems such a random location unless it held some significance for either Kim or her killer. Could this site have been one the killer passed frequently, or maybe it was selected deliberately to taunt the police? Also, those fingerprints found on the checkbook give me chills. It feels so close to a crucial breakthrough, yet it’s been over 50 years and still nothing has come of it. I can’t imagine the pain her family must feel knowing these potential clues are out there yet still achingly out of reach. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
