I recently came across Lucy Palmarin's case, and I can't stop thinking about how a tight-knit community must have felt during that dark time. Boston's South End was already struggling with various social challenges in the 1960s, and this tragedy must have shaken everyone to their core. It's heart-wrenching to imagine the fear and suspicion that might have spread among neighbors, friends, and families, knowing there was a predator lurking in their midst. The fact that the killer was someone who seemingly found amusement in his crimes is particularly difficult to process. Those two teenagers who found Lucy's body must have been profoundly affected by their discovery. The resilience of Lucy's family, her friends, and the investigators who ultimately brought Kenneth Harrison to justice speaks volumes about the community's strength and determination. My heart goes out to everyone who had to live through this nightmare and to those who continue to remember and honor Lucy's memory.

I've been following Lucy Palmarin's case and can't stop thinking about her poor family, especially her mom. The emotional toll must have been unimaginable. I can’t get over the fact that her mom fainted when she learned what happened. It's hard to blame her, given the circumstances. Losing a child in such a traumatic way, and then having to wait for answers while continuing to hope against hope—it’s just unfathomable. Sending all my strength to the Palmarin family and hoping this case serves as a reminder of what victims' families endure. It's so important for us to remember the human side of these stories, not just the cold facts. Does anyone know if there were any community efforts to support them back then? It would be good to know they weren't facing such a horrific situation all alone.
