I've been thinking about Denise Marie Harris and the tragic way she was taken from this world. Having followed several cases like hers, I can't help but be struck by the location where her body was found—The Jungle. It's such a chilling reminder of how some parts of our cities can be forgotten, much like the vulnerable people who find themselves there. It's deeply unsettling to think that places frequented by society's most marginalized end up as sites of such horrific violence. The fact that DeWayne Harris was able to commit these crimes in relatively the same area speaks volumes about the neglect these places suffer. I hope that her case urges more action to make these areas safer. Nobody, regardless of their circumstances, should have to fear for their life in the city they call home. My heart goes out to the families of Denise, Antoinette, and Olivia. They deserve justice, and we owe it to them to push for societal changes that prevent such tragedies from happening again.

Has anyone else been struck by the eerie familiarity of the location where Denise Harris was found? "The Jungle" is a part of Seattle that has seen its share of tragedy over the years—so many untold stories and lives lost. It’s devastating to think about Denise ending up there. I've been following this case closely, and I can’t help but feel so deeply for her and the other women who never had a safe place to turn to. It seems like there wasn’t much in terms of protection or outreach for people living in those circumstances back then. Has much changed in Seattle since the late '90s regarding support for homeless individuals? I hope there have been improvements, but I imagine there's still a long way to go. Sending strength to Denise's family and friends—it's incredibly unfair for them to go through this loss.
