I've been reading about Casimir Strawinski and others who fell victim to Vaughn Orrin Greenwood, and I've been thinking about the kind of fear that must have gripped the community back then. Living in Los Angeles during Greenwood's rampage must have been terrifying, especially for those who were part of the transient and vulnerable populations he preyed upon. Imagine being in those neighborhoods and constantly worrying if someone you know might be next. It's just so unsettling how Greenwood was able to operate for so long—leaving behind those ritualistic symbols like the salt and cups of blood, suggesting some sort of twisted rationale behind his actions. It's important to remember Casimir and the others not just as victims of a serial killer, but as individuals who should have had the chance to live their lives fully. My thoughts go out to all who knew and cared about them.
