I can’t stop thinking about little Koi and Kaleigh Green. It breaks my heart to know how their lives ended in such a cruel and senseless way. I keep thinking about the importance of awareness around domestic violence and how critical it is to spot warning signs before they escalate to this level of horror. Domestic violence is a silent epidemic, and sometimes we don't recognize it until it's too late. Gregory Green's previous conviction should have been a massive red flag. It's terrifying to know he was capable of such evil acts, yet he was free to do something like this again. How do we prevent this kind of tragedy from happening in the future? Are there systemic changes needed in the parole process for violent offenders like Green? My heart goes out to Faith Harris-Green and to all the families who are affected by domestic violence. I hope discussions like these, sad as they are, help spread awareness and bring about change.
