Hey everyone, I just wanted to talk about the challenges that Angela Mayhew's family must have faced during the investigation of her case. Imagine having a loved one taken under such horrific circumstances, and then dealing with the cold, slow march of justice—with no clear answers for years. Angela was only 19, with so much life ahead of her, and her family was left in the dark as to whether she was indeed one of Lorenzo Gilyard's many tragic victims. Back in the day, without the technology we have now, cases like these often depended heavily on detectives piecing together evidence without the ease of modern forensic tools. It must have been grueling for Angela's family to sit through all the uncertainty, the rumors, and the constant resurfacing of her case every time Gilyard's name came up in the news. Even though justice eventually caught up with Gilyard in 2007, I can't help but wonder how many families are still out there waiting for clarity. Angela's story is a stark reminder of how the victims' families carry the burden of these crimes long after the headlines fade. My heart goes out to them all, and I hope they’ve found some semblance of peace amid the tragedy.
