I’ve been following this case for a while, and something that really stands out to me is how the community reacted when Sandra and Brenda were first reported missing. It’s truly alarming that they were initially thought of as runaways, which unfortunately delayed crucial investigations. Given their age, it's heartbreaking that they were not immediately considered victims of abduction. I can’t help but feel for their families, who were left in limbo for so many years, holding onto hope but also grappling with so much uncertainty. It makes me wonder how many other cases from that era were similarly misjudged, and it highlights the critical need for improved systems and sensitivity when dealing with missing children. Their families displayed so much strength over those two decades before DNA testing finally gave them the answers they needed. I hope Sandra and Brenda's case sparks conversations about how we can continue to improve our efforts in missing persons investigations and ensure families receive the support they deserve from the very start.
