Has anyone else been following the case of Rita May Sugrue and the other victims of Jeffrey Lynn Feltner? I'm deeply disturbed by how the system failed her and the others at New Life Acres. It's horrible to think these individuals were in a place meant for care and protection, yet became victims in such a heartbreaking way. Feltner calling a crisis hotline to confess is just bizarre. It really makes me wonder what he expected would happen. Did he want to be stopped, or was he seeking some twisted form of validation? I'm also curious about the crisis hotline's response—could anything more have been done once he admitted to these heinous acts? For the families who lost loved ones and never saw justice due to the plea deal, it must be incredibly hard to find closure. Rita May Sugrue's name is remembered, but the fact that her murder was never specifically prosecuted leaves me unsettled. It's a grim reminder of how vulnerable people can be in healthcare settings and why we need to be vigilant about oversight and accountability.

Has anyone else been thinking about the role of the crisis hotline in Jeffrey Lynn Feltner's case? I can’t shake the thought of Feltner's anonymous confession in July 1988. It's chilling to think he reached out, possibly wanting to be stopped, yet the system couldn't immediately act due to lack of evidence. It makes me wonder about the protocols in place for handling such sensitive information. The thought of a hotline being both a safe space for confessions and a potential missed opportunity for intervention is so complex. Rita May Sugrue and the other victims deserved justice, and it's just tragic that the admissions weren't enough to save more lives. Are there any survivors or family members on here who have insights or feelings about this aspect? My heart truly goes out to everyone affected.
