Has anyone else looked into the insurance policies that Roberta Brown Elder took out on her victims? I find it deeply troubling how she managed to secure so many policies without raising immediate suspicion. It’s so sad to think about the innocent lives, like Nora Scott Harris’s, being exploited for financial gain. Did the insurance companies ever face any scrutiny for not noticing this pattern earlier? It’s unsettling to consider how easily Elder manipulated the system. My heart goes out to the Harris family and all the others who suffered from such a calculated betrayal.
The more I dig into Roberta Brown Elder's case, the more I'm struck by the sheer brutality of her actions, especially when it comes to Nora Scott Harris. At 93, Harris should have been enjoying her golden years, not falling victim to such heinous crimes. It's really chilling to think that someone so trusted, like Elder, could have woven such a deadly web under the guise of care and compassion. The fact that Elder was cunning enough to lace something as mundane as milk of magnesia with arsenic is deeply unsettling. For Detective J.E. Helms to uncover that twisted plot took great skill. I can only imagine the shock and betrayal felt by any family members and friends of these victims. It's horrifying to think that Elder took out insurance policies on those she was supposed to protect. Elder’s trial revealed a dark side to human nature, showing how someone can use trust as a tool for destruction. My thoughts are with the families of all involved. Their loss must be unimaginable.
