Hey everyone,
I've been following the Groene case for quite some time, and something that's been haunting me is how Joseph Duncan managed to evade detection for so long. It's mind-boggling and terrifying to think about the preparation that went into his attacks. After reading more about it, I can't stop wondering about all the missed chances to catch this guy before he committed these horrific acts. For a convicted sex offender to be lurking around, stalking a family, and then doing what he did... it’s a reminder of how crucial community vigilance and communication with law enforcement are.
My heart goes out to Mark McKenzie’s family and friends. He clearly had intentions of starting a new chapter in his life with Brenda, which makes this senseless act even more devastating. Knowing how this impacted his family and knowing that he was willing to stand by his fiancée through thick and thin shows what a remarkable person he must have been.
I'd be interested to hear from anyone who might know more about the timeline and law enforcement's efforts during those critical days after the murders. How can we better protect other families from such a fate?
Stay safe, everyone.
I’ve been diving deep into the details of the Coeur d'Alene massacre, and one thing that sticks with me is the sheer bravery of Shasta Groene. After everything she went through, from witnessing the horror inflicted on her family to the trauma endured during her captivity, her strength to come forward and assist law enforcement is truly remarkable. This little girl showed resilience that many adults couldn't muster. I can’t even begin to fathom the depth of her courage at such a young age. What stands out even more is how crucial her survival became in getting justice for her family. She was put under unimaginable pressure and grief, yet managed to provide invaluable information that helped bring Duncan to justice. My heart goes out to her and the entire Groene family. It’s a testament to the human spirit that she survived, and I sincerely hope she's finding some peace and healing as the years go by.
I've been revisiting some older true crime cases recently, and I just can't stop thinking about Mark McKenzie's role as a father figure in such a tragic situation. It must have been incredibly difficult for him, especially knowing the family was being stalked by such a dangerous person like Joseph Edward Duncan. It breaks my heart to think about the terror and helplessness they must have experienced. Mark seemed like he really cared about Brenda and her children, and it's devastating to know their lives were cut short so violently. If anyone has more details about the family's life before this attack or how Mark was as a person, I'd be interested in hearing more. It's important to remember the lives they lived and the love they shared, not just the horror of their deaths.
