I've been thinking a lot about how Joseph "Jae" Stevens was such a beacon of light in the San Francisco nightlife scene. Knowing that he was so talented and vibrant makes it even harder to comprehend how someone could extinguish such a bright soul. It’s unsettling to think about him meeting his killer perhaps unknowingly at a club; a place where he likely felt at ease and accepted for who he was. It's a chilling reminder of how cruel and unpredictable life can be. I just can't shake the image of Jae bringing so much happiness to others with his performances and his life being cut so tragically short. I hope discussions like this help keep his memory alive and maybe one day, bring justice to those he and other victims left behind. It’s a stark reminder of the prejudices LGBTQ+ individuals faced back then—a dark cloud that still lingers today in different forms. Sending love and hope for justice to those who knew him.
I've been reading about Joseph 'Jae' Stevens' case, and I can't stop thinking about how incredibly vibrant and talented he must have been.
