I've been digging into the case of Ira Adams, and I've got a question that's been on my mind. Why did the justice system allow someone like James Edward Daniels, with such a violent past, to slip through the cracks? It seems so tragic that he was paroled after serving just 13 years for a second-degree murder conviction, only to re-offend in such a severe way. How does the parole board assess the risk when deciding on such cases? My heart really goes out to the families of all the victims in this case. It's unsettling to think how things might have been different if Daniels had been properly supervised. Does anyone here have any insights into the parole process for violent offenders during that era?
