I can't get over how Lillie Mae Curtis seemingly showed no emotion during her trial. It's so hard to wrap my head around how someone could take such drastic actions and then appear unaffected in a courtroom. It makes me wonder about her mental state at the time of the killings and during the trial. Was there more going on beneath the surface that no one else saw? It's terrifying to think that someone in that kind of distress wouldn't reach out for help or that the system failed to recognize her struggles. Her actions devastated her family and community, and I fear that similar signs might be overlooked even today. It's so important to have better mental health support and resources to prevent tragedies like this from happening. My heart goes out to Travis, Opal, and Vance, who had to live with what happened to their siblings and mother.
