Has anyone else been following the forgotten details of Lee Miglin's murder? I recently came across discussion about the Jeep with Minnesota plates left near the crime scene, which was traced back to Andrew Cunanan. It just baffles me how someone could commit such a heinous act, then proceed to slip away in broad daylight, driving the victim's own car no less. The fact that Cunanan was able to evade capture for so long after Miglin’s murder is terrifying to think about. My heart goes out to the Miglin family, who had to endure the aftermath of this tragedy while perilously looking over their shoulders as Cunanan remained on the run. What a terrifying time that must have been. How did this impact the city of Chicago back then, and what changes came from it?
I'm curious about Andrew Cunanan's progression from his earlier victims to committing such a brutal crime against Lee Miglin. It's deeply troubling to think about how something as horrific as this can happen. Was there anything in Cunanan's history that might have foreshadowed such extreme violence, or did any psychologists later analyze his behavior to understand this escalation? It's so hard to wrap my mind around how someone can go from acquaintances' murders to the savage killing of a stranger like Miglin in such a public and high-profile way. The fact that Cunanan left so much devastation in his wake is just unimaginable. Thinking of the Miglin family and all they’ve had to endure is incredibly difficult. Does anyone know if more has come to light about Cunanan's mental state during his spree?
