I've been diving into the details of the Houston Mass Murders, and the case of Reuben Watson Haney has really struck a chord with me. It's truly devastating to think about how many young lives were stolen and how deeply this affected their families. I read that Reuben was just heading out for a regular day, planning to catch a movie—a normal teenager's plan. That ordinary plan turned tragic so quickly because of the manipulation by Elmer Wayne Henley and David Brooks. The worst part is that these boys trusted Corll and his accomplices, probably thinking they were going to have a bit of fun at a party. It’s horrifying to imagine the betrayal Reuben felt. The fact that so much time passed before Reuben's remains, along with those of so many other youths, were discovered just adds to the pain. I can’t shake the thought of how many families were left in limbo, not knowing what happened to their sons for so long. In the aftermath of events like these, I hope we learn how crucial it is to listen to our kids and keep communication open. Rest in peace, Reuben, and heartfelt condolences to your family and all the families affected by this nightmare.

Hi everyone, I've been thinking a lot about how Reuben Watson Haney trusted Brooks enough to believe he'd be safe spending time with him and Corll. At just 17, it's understandable that he might have wanted to seek out friendships and fun, not realizing the danger lurking beneath. It’s chilling to think about how Brooks, being young himself, played a part in leading Reuben and others into such a tragic situation. I can't help but wonder what was going through their minds at the time and how different things could have been if those relationships had never been formed. My heart goes out to Reuben’s family and friends who must still be grappling with these painful memories, even all these years later. It just serves as a reminder for all of us to be aware of who we trust and to look out for one another. Would love to hear your thoughts on how these young kids became so enmeshed with Corll and what led to such manipulation. Stay safe, everyone.

Did anyone else read about how Reuben's love for movies might have played a part in that tragic day? It really breaks my heart to think how something so innocent like a trip to the cinema could lead to such devastating consequences. I read somewhere that he was a regular at the local theaters, and it's just so terrifying how someone that young, with such simple joys like watching films, got caught up in this nightmare. Imagine his mom thinking he was just out enjoying a movie with friends. My thoughts are with his family and all the others affected. It's a grim reminder to cherish every mundane moment because you never know what could happen. Anyone else have similar feelings or additional info to share about that night?
