I've been thinking a lot about the missed opportunities in the investigation of the Tamiami Strangler case. I've read that Rory Conde targeted sex workers, and I've always wondered if there could’ve been more efforts to reach out to this community for information or protection before the situation escalated to this tragic level. Charity Fay Nava, like many of the other victims, was undoubtedly a person with loved ones who miss her dearly. It breaks my heart to think about the fear she must have felt and the loss her family continues to endure. I know community trust is crucial in these cases, especially when the victims are from marginalized or vulnerable groups. Has there been any discussion on whether more proactive measures were put in place by law enforcement after his arrest to prevent similar tragedies? It's incredibly frustrating to think about, and I can only hope lessons were learned to prevent such senseless loss in the future.
