I’ve been thinking a lot about Sharon Denise Moore and just how senseless and tragic her death was, like the other victims in this case. What really rattles me is the system's failure in dealing with someone like Barnes, who clearly showed signs of instability and a history of criminal behavior. It's hard not to wonder how things could've been different if Barnes had gotten more appropriate mental health support or if closer tabs had been kept on his activities post-incarceration. It’s so frustrating knowing that someone capable of such horrific acts slipped through the cracks, putting Sharon and others at risk. I can’t even begin to comprehend what Sharon’s family might've gone through, knowing she fell victim to someone who perhaps could’ve been stopped much sooner. It goes to show how crucial mental health intervention can be, not only for potential offenders but for community safety as a whole. Thoughts?
