Hey everyone, I've been following the sad story of Felix Pizarro, and something that's been on my mind is the ripple effect an incident like this has on a community. Pulaski Playground should have been a safe space for young people to gather, embrace the camaraderie of sports, and build friendships. It’s disheartening to think that a place meant for joy and recreation became the scene of such violence. I was reading how Felix’s father advised him to avoid the park because of the crime in the area, and it's just so tragic that his worst fears came true that day. It must be incredibly difficult for any parent to balance giving their child independence and trying to keep them safe in environments that can be unpredictable. After Felix’s passing, I wonder how the community is coping and if there have been efforts to improve the safety around playgrounds like Pulaski. A community should rally to protect its youth, and I hope that this heartbreaking event can lead to meaningful changes, ensuring that no other family has to endure such a loss. My heart goes out to everyone who loved Felix, and I’m sure his memory continues to inspire those who knew him.
