I've been reading about the Milton Poultney case and can't stop thinking about the families who were left to grapple with such unexpected loss, especially in the supposed safety of a hospital setting. It just boggles my mind how Richard Angelo flew under the radar for so long, and it makes me wonder about the internal checks and balances at hospitals back in those days. How many other staff members noticed something was off but didn't speak up? I can't imagine the range of emotions the families must have gone through, from shock to anger to disbelief. It's truly sobering to think about the trust we place in medical professionals and how devastating it is when that trust is broken. My heart goes out to all the families affected, and I hope such tragedies lead to tighter safeguards so no one else has to endure what the victims' families went through.
