It's been over a century, yet the story of Sheriff John Lighter Frost continues to stir curiosity and sadness. I recently came across an old newspaper clipping about the hurricane that swept through the area around the time of his death. It's unsettling to think how nature itself played a role in obscuring the truth of what happened to him. The storm not only concealed his identity but also seemed to wash away any hope of justice for his murder. I can't even begin to imagine how frustrating and heartbreaking this must have been for his family and the community who respected him so much. What do you all think the impact of natural disasters is on solving crimes like this? It's chilling to consider how many answers may have been lost to time and nature.
