Just thinking about the children of Constable James W. Murray and how difficult it must have been for them to lose their father so suddenly. Back in 1901, life was already tough, and to have their world turned upside down right before Christmas must have been devastating. I can't imagine how his wife managed to hold everything together with seven children to care for. It must have taken incredible strength and resilience. I hope that the community came together to support Murray's family during such a difficult time. Losing a loved one, especially in such a violent manner, leaves a lot of emotional scars. It's a testament to James's courage that even in his final moments, he was able to stop a threat to his community. If anyone knows more about what happened to his family afterward, or how they coped, I'd be really interested to learn more.
