I came across some information about Susan McLemore, Rusty Branch's sister, and it really struck a chord with me. I can't imagine the strength it took for her to push through all the trauma and to play such a pivotal role in identifying Rusty's remains. It's one thing to lose a loved one in such a tragic way, but to step up amidst the chaos to fight for justice and closure—it takes immense courage and resilience. Her determination must have provided some solace not only to her own family but to other families affected by Corll's horrific crimes. It’s vital for us to remember and honor the families who endured so much and remained steadfast in seeking accountability and answers. Just wanted to acknowledge her efforts and say they will not be forgotten. My thoughts go out to all the families impacted by this tragedy.
Has anyone else been following Rusty Branch’s case? I can’t even begin to imagine the pain that his family, especially his sister Susan, must have gone through during those dark times. It’s unfathomable to think about the months they spent not knowing what happened to him. What struck me most was how Susan played such a significant role in the identification process. It takes incredible strength to face that kind of heartbreak and still push through to ensure Rusty was not forgotten. This case really serves as a stark reminder of how dangerous hitchhiking was back then and why it’s crucial for communities to look out for each other. Dean Corll’s horrific actions and the involvement of Henley and Brooks still send chills down my spine. It’s a sad chapter in history, but I hope discussions like these keep Rusty's memory alive and serve as a warning for future generations.
