I was reading up on Officer James D. Harris's case and couldn't help but reflect on the ripple effect such senseless violence can have on so many lives. I can't stop thinking about his two young daughters and how this must have shaped their lives. Growing up without a father is difficult enough, but knowing he died serving the community must add a complex layer of pain and pride. It's inspiring to see how the community and the Houston Police Department have continued to honor his memory over the years. I hope his family has found some small measure of peace knowing the impact their loved one made in the world. Does anyone know if there's a memorial or scholarship in his name to help keep his legacy alive?
