I was reading up about the tragic incident involving Walter Tommy Collins and couldn't help but think about the immense courage it must take to be in law enforcement. It's just so terribly sad to think that he was close to retirement and yet paid the ultimate price serving his community. The bravery he showed that day, rushing towards danger to protect others, is something that deserves the highest respect. My heart goes out to his family—losing someone so dedicated, who had already given so much of his life to keeping others safe, is an unimaginable pain. It’s stories like this that remind us of the sacrifices officers make every day, and why we need to support them and their families. Anyone else struck by how these quiet heroes leave such profound impacts on the communities they serve?
