Hi everyone, I recently read about Officer Randy J. Zimmerman's tragic passing, and something that strikes me deeply about this case is the split-second nature of these life-altering situations that officers often face. It's almost unimaginable for those of us who haven't walked in their shoes. The bravery it must take to walk into an unknown and potentially volatile situation is immense, yet they do it everyday. I’ve been thinking about Officer Lewis and Deputy Cannon too—how harrowing it must have been for them that day. The courage it takes to stay composed in such chaos and then move forward after such a loss is incredible. I can’t help but wonder how they coped afterward, both professionally and personally. It must have changed them in so many ways. Let’s continue to remember the sacrifice Officer Zimmerman made and offer support to his family and colleagues who were forever changed by this event. Moments like these remind us of the risks first responders take and the strength of the community that has to rally around those who serve. Sending thoughts to the Zimmerman family, his friends, and all the brave officers out there. Stay safe, everyone.
