I’ve been reading up on the tragic events at Mi-T-Fine Car Wash, and something that hits me hard is the gut-wrenching sense of trust that must have been shattered in that close-knit workplace. I can't imagine the betrayal for those who worked side by side with Robert Wayne Harris. It’s like realizing someone you shared breaks and stories with had a dark side none of them ever saw coming. Augustin Villasenor, along with his brother, Dennis, Roberto, and Rhoda, were just going about their day, probably thinking about weekend plans or family dinners. To think that trust was so violently broken is chilling. My heart goes out to their families and the co-workers who not only have to mourn incredible losses but also grapple with fear this act of violence brought into their everyday spaces. What can we do more to ensure workplace safety and support for employees? It’s imperative that these discussions continue so such tragedies can be prevented in the future.
