Has anyone else been following the case of Isaac and Rebecca Savoie? It's just so frustrating how these kinds of international custody battles seem to end up. One thing that stands out to me is the difference in how parental abduction is handled legally in Japan versus the U.S. I read that Japan hadn't signed the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction back then, which makes retrieving children in these situations incredibly complicated. Has anyone come across more recent examples or case studies where these laws have evolved or where parental rights have been successfully enforced across international borders? It's sad to think how common this issue might be and how difficult it seems to fix once it happens.
