Has anyone else been thinking about the importance of Makayla's connection to her hobbies and how that part of her life might have been helping to shape her future? I've been reflecting on how much joy she found in making jewelry with beads. It seems like such a sweet and creative outlet for her, and I bet it brought a lot of comfort to those around her too. Knowing how much she cherished her craft makes this loss even harder for her family and friends. It's hard not to think about all the beautiful pieces she could have gone on to create. I just wish that more focus was put on ensuring the safety of kids in the environments where they should feel most secure. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved her—she deserved so much more.
