Hey all, I've been following Gary Alan Warner's case and wanted to discuss something that's been on my mind. It's so wild how his story intersects with the scrap metal thefts happening back then. While it's completely understandable why the police were alert that night, it makes me wonder about a missed opportunity for better engagement with the community. I mean, if local events like these thefts were happening, there might have been a chance to get more eyes on the roads and streets, looking out for folks like Gary. Perhaps the community could have been more aware of people out in the rain that evening. I’m curious if anyone else thinks there's something more that could be done in cases where environmental conditions (like heavy rain) play such a critical role. How can police better handle situations in challenging weather without rushing or panicking both parties involved? No blame on any side, just pondering if there are protocols in other areas that we could learn from. Thoughts?
