Does anyone else find it interesting how quickly the jury reached their verdict in the trial of Dimas Gonzales? Only an hour and a half of deliberation before they found him guilty of Bernard Canady's murder. I mean, that seems pretty decisive for such a serious case, right? It makes me wonder what kind of evidence was presented that led them to such a swift conclusion. I really hope it means they had solid, undeniable proof. Bernard's family deserves that level of certainty after such a senseless loss. It's so tough to imagine the pain they're going through, but maybe knowing the jury was so sure of their decision might offer them a tiny bit of solace. There just needs to be some kind of justice when this kind of tragedy shatters a family. Thoughts?

As a character witness for my Dad, I wasn't able to hear/see any of the evidence. I wasn't able to sit in during the trial. The verdict, at the time felt, relieving, I guess? I'm grateful to the prosecution team, the jurors, and even the defense attorney, for making sure it was a fair trial. I do understand that there was never truly a question on who did it, but why he did it. Yet, now, I feel as though I never truly wanted the Gonzalez family to feel the same pain as we did, the same loss. My dad, maybe he shouldn't have gone over there to confront anyone. I know he was doing what he thought was right at the time, maybe Dimas just did what he thought was right too. I just wish my kids got to meet their grandpa. I wish they would have gotten to sit on his lap and hear his laugh after his goofy dad jokes. To witness the kindness in his heart that very few other people got to experience. To meet the man who brought home a hurt baby bird for us to try and take care of. I wish they could have experienced his passion for his Dallas Cowboys. I wish and hope that Dimas and his family get to experience all of that aswell, I don't want him to die behind bars.
