I came across something incredibly touching about Kade McIntire Johnson that I wanted to share. In the aftermath of the horrible event, his school organized a special tribute to honor his memory. The first-grade class at LaRue Miller Elementary collectively planted a tree on the school grounds as a lasting tribute to Kade and the joy he brought into the lives of his classmates. They called it Kade's Tree. It moved me how the kids and teachers came together to create a living memorial. It's small acts like these that remind us of the impact Kade had, even at such a young age. It must be incredibly difficult for everyone involved, but knowing the community is supporting each other and remembering Kade's light is so important. My heart goes out to everyone affected, especially Kade’s classmates and teachers, who are also navigating the pain of losing such a special friend and student.
