I've been following the case of Mariah Loredo, and my heart goes out to her family and friends. I can only imagine the pain they're feeling. What really struck me is the tight-knit nature of the community where this tragedy happened. From what I've read, the area around Saybrook Street and Shelburne Street sounds like a place where everyone knows each other, and I can't help but think about how this sense of safety has been shattered for the residents there.
It's amazing how much support and love are being shown from the community to the Loredo family, but it doesn't stop the questions they must have each day. It must be so hard knowing that the suspect is still out there. I truly hope the investigators can track down José Sarmiento in Mexico and bring him to justice soon.
