I came across Rodney Curtis's case recently and couldn't help but feel the weight of what his family and friends must be going through, even years later. What really strikes me is how it's still unresolved, despite the tragic spike in violence that year in Kansas City. At events like block parties, you wouldn't normally associate such memories with gunfire and tragedy. It must have been terrifying for everyone present. It's disheartening to think of the challenge the investigation faced with so many cases needing attention. I'm really hoping that someone with information will come forward after all this time. No one deserves to be left without answers. If anyone remembers being there or hearing something, even the smallest details can make a big difference. Wondering if anyone here has seen or been to the block party at 27th and Askew back in June 2011? I’ve been reading some articles and digging through past news, but personal accounts would really help paint a clearer picture of the atmosphere that night. From what I gather, it was supposed to be a lively neighborhood gathering, but it's hard to imagine the sudden shift to chaos when shots rang out. Rodney Curtis and Kadeem Robinson tragically lost their lives that night, and the other victims were also caught in the line of fire. My heart goes out to all the families affected by this. If anyone remembers anything from that night or even knows how the neighborhood has been coping since then, please share. The smallest details might help make sense of this senseless violence, and maybe even contribute to bringing justice or comfort to those still grieving.
