I can't stop thinking about how brave Rena must have been throughout everything she endured. It's so hard to read about her finally finding the strength to leave such a dangerous situation, only for her life to be taken in such a violent way. The fact that she had her friend on the phone when it happened just adds a layer of horror to it all. I'm glad her brother stepped up to care for Rena's daughters. It's a blessing that they have someone who loves them so much to help guide them through this immense loss. It's crucial that we push for more resources for those experiencing domestic violence so others don't find themselves in similar heartbreaking situations. Rena deserved so much more than this, and her girls deserve to live in a world where these types of tragedies aren't so common.

I recently read about Rena Hodges' tragic case, and it just doesn't sit right with me. Her story not only highlights the dangers of domestic violence but also the terrifying reality many victims face when trying to escape toxic relationships. What's really been on my mind is the bravery it must've taken for Rena to plan her escape, knowing the risks involved. It's chilling that she was on the phone with her friend during that final, terrifying moment. I can't help but think about Lori Warner too—what a heartbreaking call to bear witness to. Rena’s story draws attention to the critical need for better protective measures and immediate support for individuals in similar situations. My heart goes out to her daughters and family; losing someone in such a devastating way must be unimaginably tough. This makes me wonder: What more can we, as a community, do to ensure people like Rena get the help they need before it's too late?
