I keep thinking about the dynamics in the home and how difficult it must have been for Brenda and the family to live under the same roof with Terry, given his troubling past. It’s hard to imagine the stress and fear they might have experienced daily, knowing about his history. For Brenda to still be living with her ex despite all this tells me that she must have had immense strength and resilience. Living in a small community like Van, sometimes the options can be limited, particularly for older individuals, and they must have been doing their best to keep the family together. My thoughts are with Dawn and her surviving daughter as they navigate life after losing Brenda and Fawn so senselessly. The entire town must still be reeling from this loss, and it’s a reminder of how much work needs to be done regarding awareness and support in domestic situations like these.
