I wanted to take a moment to discuss the significance of Millie Chance's contributions to her community before her tragic death. As a corrections officer with the Burnet County Sheriff's Office, she was known for her commitment to her job and the people she served. It's clear that she dedicated herself to making a positive impact in her profession, which makes this loss even more profound. These events are a somber reminder of the unexpected tragedies that can befall those who serve in high-stress environments, which can sometimes translate into personal lives that are equally challenging. My thoughts are with her family, friends, and colleagues who are undoubtedly grappling with this profound loss. Millie's legacy as a compassionate and dedicated officer shouldn't be overshadowed by how her life ended. It's crucial for us as a community to remember her for how she lived and served. If anyone has thoughts on how we can come together to honor her memory, please share.
