Supposedly Anne’s boyfriend, James Borg, was living with her in a rented house at the time of her disappearance. There was 12 domestic calls made the month of her disappearance. After she went missing cadaver dogs were sent to the home and they signaled that a dead body was recently there but nothing was ever found. Shorty after Borg disconnects the gas line to his dryer causing the house to blow up while he was still inside. Borg faced serious burns across 70% of his body. He was definitely trying to hide something and maybe even attempting to end his own life. What really gets me is he was sentenced to six years in prison. In exchange for his plea to a charge of residential arson, three counts of aggravated arson were dismissed. He lived his life for the next 12 years and just recently passed away.

Thank you for summarizing this heartbreaking and complex case. Anne Gay’s disappearance is deeply troubling, and the sequence of events surrounding it—including the history of domestic incidents, the explosion, and the plea deal—understandably raises many questions.

You're absolutely right to highlight the concerns around the cadaver dogs’ reaction and the suspicious timing of the explosion. The fact that James Borg was hurt in the blast and later convicted of arson only adds to the mystery. The dismissal of the more serious charges in exchange for a plea deal is frustrating to many who are seeking justice and answers. While Borg's death closes the possibility of further legal action against him, it also underscores the importance of ensuring all unanswered questions are fully investigated.

What’s most important now is that Anne has still not been found, and her loved ones continue to live without closure. Sharing information, discussing the facts, and keeping Anne’s story visible are essential. If anyone has even the smallest tip, it could still make a difference.

If you or anyone else has thoughts or theories, I hope they’re shared with care and the intent to help move this case forward. Her family and the community deserve answers.

Anyone with informtion should still reach out to the Will County Sheriff’s Office. Even after all these years, cases have been solved through persistent public awareness and new witness testimonies and even DNA evidence.

Has anyone else looked into the explosion at Anne Gay’s house? It seems so bizarre. From what I understand, the place blew up just a little over a month after she vanished. That definitely raises a lot of red flags for me, especially since they confirmed it was arson. Who would benefit from that? Was it someone trying to cover their tracks or just a random unrelated act? I feel like this angle should be getting more attention from investigators. Also, was anything else found on the property after the explosion, or did everything get destroyed? I’m really hoping more details emerge soon—this case has so many layers that don’t seem to add up.
Has anyone looked into who might have had access to Anne's house around the time of her disappearance? The fact that it was burned down just over a month after she went missing seems too coincidental. It makes me wonder if someone wanted to destroy evidence, but what kind? Also, a fire like that takes planning, especially since it was confirmed as arson. Could it have been someone close to her, or maybe someone familiar with the house? It’s chilling to think someone would go to such lengths, and it makes me question why it’s been so difficult to trace any leads about Anne herself.
Did anyone else find it strange how the explosion at Anne Gay's house happened exactly one month after she went missing? The timing seems too coincidental to ignore. I’ve been reading up on cases where homes are destroyed or tampered with after someone disappears, and it often points to someone trying to cover up evidence or deflect attention. Could there have been something inside that house that someone didn’t want found? It makes you wonder what kind of risk Anne might have been facing before everything went down. Is it possible that whoever did this was close enough to her to know crucial details about her life? Hoping that something new turns up soon because both the explosion and her disappearance seem too connected to be random.
